A plain-English summary before you read the full policy:

• We collect only what is needed to run the reading tutor.

• Your child's voice is streamed for pronunciation feedback and is not stored by us.

• We do not sell data, show ads, or use your child's data to train AI.

• Parents can review, correct, or delete their child's data at any time.

• We comply with U.S. federal children's privacy law (COPPA, 2025 amendments).

1. Who We Are

Lekture: AI Reading Tutor is operated by Klever Kiddoz, LLC, a limited liability company registered in Virginia, United States. We build educational technology for children and families. Questions about this policy? Contact us at Hello@Lekture.ai.

2. Who This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy covers all users of the Lekture mobile app. The app is designed for use by children reading with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Under U.S. law (COPPA), we must have verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from a child under 13. We do not collect any data from a child before that consent is confirmed.

3. What We Promise We Will Never Do

Before describing what we collect, we want parents to know clearly what we do not do:

• We do not sell your child's data to anyone.

• We do not show advertising of any kind in the app.

• We do not use your child's data to train any AI model, ever.

• We do not track your child's physical location.

• We do not allow your child to communicate with other users.

• We do not build behavioral profiles of your child for commercial purposes.

• We do not share your child's data with any company not named in this policy.

4. What Data We Collect and Why

4.1 Your Account Information (Parent or Guardian)

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address, used to verify your identity as a parent and to send account notices

• A sign-in token if you use Google or Apple to log in

• Subscription status, managed through the Apple App Store

4.2 Your Child's Profile

For each child profile you create, we collect:

• A profile name (this does not need to be your child's real name)

• Your child's age or grade level, used to personalize the reading experience

• An optional profile photo

• Initial reading level and assessment date

• Stars and coins earned as reading rewards

4.3 Reading Session Records

After each session, we save:

• Words read correctly, mispronounced, missed, or added

• Overall accuracy score and pronunciation score

• The text your child read during the session

• Date and time of the session

This data powers the progress tracking and reporting features parents use to follow their child's development.

4.4 Your Child's Voice

When your child reads aloud, the app sends their voice to an AI pronunciation service in real time. This is the core feature of Lekture. Here is exactly what happens to that audio:

• The voice is streamed live, not recorded as a file by Lekture

• We instruct the service to delete the audio immediately after the assessment is complete

• No audio file is stored on our servers

• No audio file is stored on your device

• The voice is never used to train any AI model

• We have a signed legal agreement with our AI provider that prohibits them from retaining or training on your child's audio

4.5 Camera Use

The app uses your device's rear camera to read printed text from books, worksheets, or any physical material your child is reading. The camera is pointed at reading material, not at your child.

• In Reading Mode: The camera processes video frames on the device only. Nothing is sent to any server. Frames are discarded as soon as the text is recognized.

• In Book Creation Mode: When you use the optional feature to compile a book, still photos of pages are sent to our AI provider for text processing. These images are stored on your device only and are never sent to our servers.

The app does not use any facial recognition or analysis of your child's appearance at any point.

5. Who We Share Data With

We share data only with the services needed to operate the app. Every service listed below is bound by a legal data agreement with Klever Kiddoz, LLC.

OpenAI

Provides the voice pronunciation assessment and book text processing. Receives voice audio streams during reading sessions, and page images when Book Creation is used. A signed Data Processing Agreement prohibits OpenAI from using this data for training. Audio is not retained after processing.

Google and Apple Sign-In

Optional login methods. Receive only an authentication token. No child data is involved.

Apple App Store

Handles all subscription billing. Klever Kiddoz, LLC never sees your payment card information. All billing questions and refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

DigitalOcean

Our cloud infrastructure provider. Child profile data, session records, and progress data are stored in a secure database on DigitalOcean servers located in the United States.

Notifee

Manages push notifications locally on your device. Does not send your data to outside servers.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your child's data for as long as your account is active. When you delete an account or child profile:

• All profile data, session records, progress history, rewards, and goals are permanently deleted from our servers within 90 days

• This deletion runs automatically. You do not need to do anything extra.

• Book images stored locally on your device are not included. Delete the books in the app, or uninstall the app, to remove them from your device.

To request deletion, email Hello@Lekture.ai with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." Include the email address on your account. We will confirm completion within 5 business days.

7. How We Get Your Consent

We collect no data from any child until a parent has verified consent. The process:

• A parent creates the main account using their email address or Google or Apple login

• We send a consent email to that address before any child profile can be activated

• The parent clicks the confirmation link to verify they are an adult and agree to this policy

• Only after that confirmation is complete can any child profile be created and any data collected

• The free trial begins only after consent is confirmed

By confirming, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the child or children in your account.

8. Your Rights as a Parent

At any time, you can:

• Review your child's data by emailing Hello@Lekture.ai

• Correct any inaccurate profile information directly in the app

• Delete your child's data as described in Section 6

• Withdraw your consent, which will end access and trigger data deletion

• Refuse further collection by contacting us or deleting your account

Contact us at Hello@Lekture.ai to exercise any of these rights. We respond within 5 business days.

9. Security

We use encrypted connections to protect data in transit between the app and our servers. Access to child data is limited to the personnel and systems required to operate the service. We do not grant any third party access to child data beyond what is described in Section 5.

10. AI and Your Child's Data

Klever Kiddoz, LLC does not use child data, including voice recordings, session data, profile data, or reading history, to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model. This applies now and in the future under this policy.

If we ever wish to change this, we will update this policy, notify all parents, and collect fresh verifiable consent before any such use begins. Data collected under this policy will never be retroactively used for AI training without that consent.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes that are less protective of children's data, we will notify you by email and require fresh parental consent before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this policy will always show when it was last updated.
